ADA DEMONSTRATION 2013
Wednesday 17th July
The North Level District IDB hosted the Association of Drainage Authorities (ADA) working demonstration 2013, the event was held at the Cross Guns Pumping Station, Thorney Toll on Wednesday 17th July, 2013.
The working demonstration is held every 4 years and allows the manufacturers of industry plant and equipment the opportunity to demonstrate their products in front of Drainage Board Members and staff, Local Authority representatives, Environment Agency managers and operators, also welcoming interested members of the public and farming community.
This year’s demonstration was well supported with 72 manufacturers exhibiting at the event, held on one of the UK’s hottest day so far with over 1000 visitors basking in 30 degree heat, while meeting with new and old acquaintances and colleagues.
There was plenty of interest for all with working demonstrations from CAT, Case, Land and Water, Spearhead, Herder and Bomford to name a few. The marquee housed over 40 exhibitors showcasing the latest technology and innovations in our industry; with consultants, conservationists, telemetry specialists, engineering manufacturers, and pump suppliers all represented.
The show was fortunate enough to welcome a visit from HRH the Duke of Gloucester who showed great interest, touring the whole site, spending time with exhibitors viewing their products and services.
Visitors came from all over the country, with representatives from as far away as the Somerset Levels and oversea visitors from Holland and Germany.
Feedback suggests a successful and enjoyable day was had by all, with the weather playing no small part.
