Watercourse Cleansing

The Board annually carry out 20,000 metres of watercourse cleansing, this operation is carried out between January and April every year.

The cleaning operation removes accumulated silt from the bed of the watercourse ensuring that efficient water flows are maintained, the cleansing operation is carried out on a five to fifteen year rotation.
